Getting Started
Creating a collection is easy:
- Tap the + button on the Collections screen
- Take a photo of something you want to track (e.g., a blood pressure monitor)
- Wait a few seconds for AI to analyze your photo
- Review the suggested metrics and customize if needed
- Tap Create Collection
Your first photo becomes the basis for the collection, and you can start adding more photos right away.
PhotoMetrics can extract data from any photo that contains numbers or text. Common use cases include:
- Health: Blood pressure monitors, weight scales, glucose meters
- Finance: Receipts, bills, invoices
- Fitness: Gym equipment displays, running watches
- Home: Electric meters, water meters, thermostats
- And more: Anything with visible data you want to track over time
Our AI is highly accurate for clear, well-lit photos. However:
- Results depend on photo quality - better lighting = better results
- You can always edit any value the AI got wrong
- Crop photos to focus on the relevant data for best results
- For important data (especially health-related), always verify against the original
Troubleshooting
If your photo seems stuck processing:
- Check your internet connection - Photo processing requires connectivity
- Wait a moment - Processing typically takes 5-15 seconds
- Check for a push notification - You'll be notified when processing completes
- Pull to refresh - The photo list will update with new data
- Try uploading again - If it's been more than a minute, try a new photo
You can easily edit any metric value:
- Open the collection and tap on the photo
- You'll see the list of extracted metrics
- Tap on any value to edit it
- Changes save automatically
For future photos, try taking clearer pictures with good lighting and the display in focus.
Charts require at least 2 photos with extracted data. If your charts are empty:
- Check photo count - You need at least 2 processed photos
- Verify metrics were extracted - Open a photo to confirm values exist
- Try different time source - Switch between "Upload Date" and "Photo Taken Date"
- Check date range - Screenshots may not have "Photo Taken Date" metadata
To fix notification issues:
- Go to iOS Settings > PhotoMetrics > Notifications
- Make sure notifications are enabled
- Check that "Allow Notifications" is turned on
- Try logging out and back in to re-register for notifications
Account & Privacy
You can delete your account from the app:
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Scroll down to Account section
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm by typing your email
- Tap Delete My Account
Warning: This permanently deletes all your collections, photos, and data. This action cannot be undone.
Your data is stored securely in Amazon Web Services (AWS):

- Data: Encrypted PostgreSQL database
- Authentication: AWS Cognito (Google/Apple Sign In)
All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. We don't sell your data or show ads.
Currently, data export is available by request. Contact us at support@photometrics.io and we'll provide your data in a downloadable format.
We're working on an in-app export feature for a future update.
